We found the following:

  • This fake picture has been shared around on Twitter for past few days and is slowly gaining traction.

  • This manipulated image is trying to push forward a narrative that PM Modi is a ‘420’, which colloquially in India, represents a cheat & a fraudster. It also colloquially refers to Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with "Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property".

  • The original image was taken when President of FIFA Gianni Infantino presented the football jersey to PM Narendra Modi, on the sidelines of G20 Summit, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
